Why my Web cam is detected as a Web cam by Endpoint Protector, but as a simple camera by my computer?

Web cams are usually recognized by the Windows operating system as cameras, but they can be detected as Web cams by Endpoint Protector based on the driver they use. However, in case a Web cam is connected to the computer and its driver name is not included in the list of "Known Web cam drivers" then that web cam will be detected as a camera also by Endpoint Protector.
